Concrete Al Frescos Mandurah

An alfresco is a roofed outdoor room, and that changes the concrete work compared with an open patio. It usually needs to finish flush with the interior floor so the transition through the sliding door reads as one level, it has to be detailed correctly against the existing house slab and damp course, and because it sits under cover it carries far more premium finishes than a slab out in the weather. We pour concrete al frescos Mandurah homes are built around, matching interior floor levels and finishing in honed, polished or exposed aggregate as the design calls for.

  • Flush with the interior floor — Levels matched through the door opening for a continuous indoor-outdoor line
  • Detailed against the house slab — Correct expansion and damp-course detailing where new meets existing
  • Under cover means better finishes — Honed and polished options that would not last out in the weather
  • Still needs a fall — Wind-driven rain reaches under any roof, so water is still directed out
  • Post footings integrated — Roof and post fixings set in the pour to the builder's layout

How the job runs

Mandurah Alfresco Concrete Process

Alfresco slabs are the most level-critical outdoor pour we do, and usually the most coordinated with other trades. The finished floor generally has to sit flush with the floor inside, which leaves very little tolerance and means the levels are worked out with your builder beforehand rather than negotiated on the day. Drainage still has to work within that small margin. We also need to know where posts, downpipes, plumbing and any future fixings land, because they are set into the slab. Once poured, the finish is applied or ground back, then sealed and handed over with care notes.

1

Levels & Builder Coordination

Finished floor level taken from the interior slab or the plans, and the pour sequenced around the roof and other trades.

2

Excavation, Base & Detailing

Ground compacted to depth, with expansion and damp-course detailing set out where the new slab meets the house.

3

Reinforcement, Fixings & Pour

Reinforcement placed, post fixings and any chase-outs set, then poured to the agreed level and fall.

4

Grind or Finish, Seal & Handover

Finished as specified — including grinding after cure for honed or polished — then sealed and walked through with you.

Why locals choose us

Why Choose Our Alfresco Concrete Experts in Mandurah

A flush threshold is the whole appeal of an alfresco and the easiest thing to get wrong by ten millimetres.

Interior levels matched

Finished floor level taken off the actual slab or plans, so the door threshold lands flush rather than nearly flush.

Expansion detailed correctly

New slab isolated from the house slab so differential movement does not crack the join.

Damp course respected

We keep the slab at a height that does not bridge the damp course, which is a compliance issue as much as a build one.

Builder coordination

We work in with your builder's program and post layout instead of pouring and leaving them to adapt.

Fixed-price quotes

Excavation, base, detailing, reinforcement, the pour and the finish in one written number.

7 year workmanship guarantee

If a workmanship fault shows up within seven years, we come back and fix it at our cost.
